Be the best version of you

By Rebecca Masina

Aint you tired of always envying other people’s lives? Well I am not saying that it is wrong to envy other people or any good thing. Don’t you think that it is time for you to make yourself more visible? More reliable to important people in your life? How about self-motivating yourself?
Well I personally think that you can be the best version of yourself and let yourself be envied as well.  Change your life not for the bad but also for the best. Do something that you never thought that you are capable of doing. Challenge yourself.

Allow yourself to dream and make things possible. Allow yourself to be criticizedWell today it is the last Friday of the year. Have you ever thought about what you want to have achieved by next year this time?
We learn that way. Be with people who are positive and only willing to grow and not bad mouth e=very thing they walk past or see.

Allow positivity to run your life.  Love and be loved. Respect and be respected. You give what you want to be given back.
“We must let go of the life we have planned, so as to accept the one that is waiting for us”. Joseph Campbell

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

FESTIVE SEASON 2016

Festive season 2016

By Rebecca Masina

It is that time of the year where families get to get together and have an awesome time. The only thing people do not pay attention to is their safety. Drivers are urged to be extra vigilant on the roads. Persons safety first. You do not want to regret at the last minute. Nkabe ke ngwana mo rago. If you know what I mean. Yes, we love this time of the year. We lose our mind, and we go wild and crazy, but with maturity and cautiousness, you could save a lot of lives.
Some of the tips for this festive season to take note of:

Budget
Watch out how you spend. Do not spend like there is no next year just to impress people who do not add value to your life.

Be wise
Put your money into good use and do what is most important before going to waste it on friends whom don’t even know your surname.

Drink carefully
Drinks are going to be spiked. Make sure that you take care of your drink and you do not leave it open. Go with it where ever you go, even if it is the toilet.

Money
Do not walk around carrying cash, the best option is to always leave your cards at home and take the only money you will need for drinks and transport. When it is done then you know it is time to go home, and you have spent enough. This will also help prevent when you get mugged, you particulars including your money is safe.

Avoid unnecessary fights.
Fights will only lead to death in this day and age. You only survive by luck
People take good care of yourselves,

Nkabe ke ngwana morago.

16 DAYS OF ACTIVISM- PLAY YOUR PART

16 DAYS OF ACTIVISM- PLAY YOUR PART

By Rebecca Masina

YES, it is that time again, and No we don’t only have to do this on each December of every year calendar. What about every day? Hmm doesn’t it sounds better? Well not only are women and children abused but men as well are abused, and they are sitting in silence fearing that they will be laughed at if they speak up. Askere men are believed to be the heads their families? But I tell you, there are many men not only in South Africa but across the world that are abused and only scared to come out.
We live in a society that everything has already been planned out. Like “Monna ga alle-men don’t cry” eeh where have you seen that? Aren’t they humans as well? Don’t they ever get hurt? Aowa they are not robots hey. Let’s love and respect them and not laugh when they are in pain.
The following is a guide of what 16 DAYS OF ACTIVISM is all about:
The objectives of the 16 Days Campaign are to:
•Attract all South Africans to be active participants in the fight to eradicate violence against women and children, hence the theme: Count me in.
•Expand accountability beyond the Justice, Crime Prevention and Security (JCPS) cluster to include all government clusters and provinces.
•Combine technology, social media, the arts, journalism, religion, culture and customs, business and activism to draw attention to the many ways violence against women and children affects the lives of all people in all communities around the world.
•Ensure mass mobilization of all communities to promote collective responsibility in the fight to eradicate violence against women and children.
•Encourage society to acknowledge that violence against women and children is NOT a government or criminal justice system problem, but a societal problem, and that failure to view it as such results in all efforts failing to eradicate this scourge in our communities.
•Emphasise the fact that the solution lies with all of us.
