DON’T BLAME YOURSELF FOR FALLING PREGNANT

By Rebecca Masina

They might make you feel like it is your fault, why did you not use protection or better yet why are you not on prevention. The truth is you are both responsible for what takes place during and after intercourse. You did not sleep alone. He was there. You women also don’t need to blame men on why they did not ejaculate on the outside. Why were you also not using a condom and we all know that unprotected sex leads to what, so why do we act as if we don’t know?

Education about pregnancy and diseases is being spread within schools, churches, clinics and even at homes.  To this day people still act if it is not as if they have never heard about the consequences of unprotected sex. People suffer from H.I.V; people suffer from S.T.I’s even though they know better about them. Media is the biggest platform where teachings about such thing are being aired but still no one really takes them to mind till it is late.
“Nkabe ke ngwana morago”

Most of the time guys turn to think that it is women’s responsibility to make sure that they don’t get unwanted pregnancies but no, that is not true. Whoever gets involved in unprotected sex is responsible for the consequences. It only takes two seconds to create a soul, whether wanted or not.

No one is trapping anyone with a baby as we know that cannot happen. They leave with or without a baby. Even a good sex doesn’t mean he will stay or otherwise. The truth is if you know you do not want unforeseen things to happen then you have to protect yourself. No one will protect you but yourself. After all no one sends you to go have sex. It is your choice and your life.
Thoughts and decisions of abortions come up. They might force you to do one and you also might fall into it as you will be feeling like you are not yet ready to have a child let alone with that person. Your decisions might be based on your future but who gives rights to kill innocent souls? He might not be ready but he can’t force you to kill, vice verse lady.

Families also do sometimes blame you for falling pregnant but they also have children and they have also made some mistakes in life. No one is perfect don't let them judge you, belittle you. Don’t beat yourself about it.

Don’t feel ashamed but take responsibility of your actions.
